It is with deep sorrow and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Martin Wohnlich, a distinguished entrepreneur and beloved family man.  Born in Simla, pre-partition India to a Scottish mother and a Swiss father, Martin’s life journey took him across continents, leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know him.

His early years in Switzerland laid the foundation for a life characterized by resilience, boldness, hard work, and appreciation for the world's vastness. His pursuit of knowledge took him to the esteemed halls of Harvard Business School, a testament to his intellectual rigor and ambition. This experience shaped not only his worldview and catalyzed a successful career, but cultivated friendships that would define his lifetime.

Drawn by the beauty of the Rocky Mountains and sensing opportunity, he packed up and moved west to Denver with his good friend and then wife Carol and started drilling for oil.  The family grew to include their dog Monty and daughter Mara. His professional life was marked by significant achievements in the realms of oil & gas and commercial real estate.

Yet, it was his personal attributes—his kindness, humor, sought after advice, and the ability to be a faithful friend, wonderful mentor and an exceptional father—that truly set him apart. Known for his larger-than-life persona, he was not just a figure in the community but someone who could talk to anyone while bringing light and warmth into every room.

In his later years, he found a haven in the tropical heat of Puerto Aventuras, Mexico with Cindy, his steadfast and loving partner of nearly 30 years. This serene locale was more than a retirement destination; it was a place where they traveled and found much joy and adventure. Here he enjoyed a profound sense of peace and contentment, reflecting the tranquil later chapters of his life.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, inspiration, and indomitable spirit. His daughter Mara, partner Cindy, sister Erica, beloved grandsons, and a myriad of friends and family will deeply miss him. His life, a vivid tapestry of experiences and relationships, will continue to inspire and guide those who had the privilege of knowing him. As we bid farewell, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey marked by love, adventure, and the touch of a man who was truly larger than life.
